What to expect from APCA’s new academy in Chandigarh
The Academy of Pastry & Culinary Arts (APCA) is opening its newest academy in the Chandigarh Tricity, serving Chandigarh and the Tricity area. If you are thinking about a career in pastry, baking or cooking — or simply want to train properly — here is what you can expect, and what we will be announcing over the coming months.
What APCA is
APCA is a group of professional pastry and culinary schools. Its journey began in 2010 with a flagship academy in Malaysia, and it now has academies in Malaysia, India, the Philippines, Indonesia and Singapore. In India, APCA opened in Gurugram (Delhi NCR) in 2015, Bengaluru in 2017 and Mumbai in 2018.
APCA is best known for the quality of its curriculum and its placement record, as well as for winning world-level competitions. Its Malaysian team won the World Pastry Cup (Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie) in Lyon in 2019, and placed third in the world in 2025. In India, APCA chefs and students have won the India Pastry Cup and the Junior Pastry India Cup several times.
How APCA teaches
APCA’s approach is simple: you learn by doing. At APCA’s India academies:
- Every student makes their own products — you are not watching a demonstration from the back of the room.
- Classes are kept small, with a 1:16 chef-to-student ratio.
- You don’t watch — you create. Every student makes their own products, every day.
- Faculty are chefs with experience in leading hotels, supported by regular visits from APCA’s international faculty in Malaysia.
- Diploma students can also earn an internationally recognised City & Guilds (UK) diploma.
Courses APCA runs in India
APCA India offers Diplomas in Pastry & Bakery Arts and in Culinary Arts, weekend certificates in pastry and in culinary arts, and short intensive courses of six to twelve weeks — including a six-week eggless certificate. You can read about each one on our courses page.
